Maurice’s journey has been shaped by a lifelong passion for sports. Starting with football at his hometown club in Meckenheim-Merl, he transitioned into becoming a high-performance swimmer.

The pursuit of success in this individual sport required immense dedication, a journey made smoother by the unwavering support of Maurice’s parents and family. Throughout his teenage years, marked by rigorous daily training sessions, he cultivated a foundation of self-discipline and healthy athletic habits. This commitment translated into numerous top-10 finishes at the national level and provided him with diverse experiences in international tournaments.


Maurice’s Journey Through Injuries

Resilience Beyond Uniform

Following high school, Maurice dedicated 12 years to the German Armed Forces, where he pursued a degree in sports science at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career as a Navy officer. Amidst the transitions in his professional journey, Maurice consistently maintained a passion for swimming and athletic pursuits.

At the age of 21, he achieved a significant milestone by completing his inaugural Ironman triathlon in Nice, France. This experience not only showcased his commitment to fitness but also ignited a lasting enthusiasm for challenging physical endeavors. A significant injury during Naval Special Forces training, coupled with eight knee surgeries, altered Maurice’s career trajectory in the Navy. Undeterred by this setback, he rebounded after rehabilitation with three Ironman triathlon finishes in 2015, 2016, and 2018.

This period marks Maurice’s deep interest in unlocking human potential. Over the subsequent years, he evolved into a hybrid athlete, consistently setting and conquering new goals. This included running marathons, venturing into ultra-cycling, and taking on the renowned Tough Guy Race in Wolverhampton, GBR.


18 Countries – 7 Days

A Global Record

In 2023, Maurice achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record – visiting 18 countries in 7 days by bicycle. This extraordinary accomplishment fueled his ambition for even more formidable challenges in the years ahead like the Channel Swim in June 2025.
